The Hotel Puente Romano is situated on the southern coast of Spain in the Costa del Sol within the “Golden Mile”, a residential area between Marbella and Puerto Banús, just 35 minutes drive from Málaga Airport.
The heart of the Resort and its social focus is the Roman Bridge (Puente Romano) from which the property takes its name. This ancient artefact from the first century is the only remaining structure of a road which once linked Cadiz with Rome, the Via Augusta. Built in the style of an Andalusian village, the 285 spacious guest rooms are spread in 27 three–storey villas, scattered around the three levels comprising the 55.000 sqm of lush, sub-tropical landscaped gardens, gently cascading down to the Mediterranean Sea. Over 400 species of plant life have been brought to the gardens from all around the world, many literally in a suitcase courtesy of HRH Principe Alfonso von Hohenlohe, the founder of the Puente Romano.
The beautiful Ocean front invites to relax at our beaches, which are located just in front of our property. Sun beds, parasols, towels and drink service are available during the summer season.
Water-sports are offered in season at the left side beach front. Available are jet-ski, kayak, water-skiing, parasailing, and catamaran, windsurfing and motorboat excursions. The season is approximately from mid-April through to October, from 11h00 to 18h00 daily.
GOLF
Hotel Puente Romano, together with its sister-hotel Marbella Club, owns two golf courses, the Marbella Club Golf Resort and El Higueral Golf Club, both situated only 20 minutes drive from the hotel, in the remote natural surrounding of Benahavis. Players may enjoy a nice walk in the hills with spectacular views of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.
The golf clubs offer privileges to Hotel Residents, enjoying preferred rates, priority for making reservations and guarantee best tee-off-times.
The Concierge can arrange for Guests of the Hotel Puente Romano to play at any of the area’s courses. Puente Romano has obtained special guest privileges at 15 of the best and closest courses. Green fees are available at reduced rates. Handicap certificates are required in all golf courses!
Golf Pros can also be arranged at the Marbella Club Golf Resort and other courses prior booking.
HORSE RIDING
The Marbella Club Golf Resort offers an Equestrian Center with possibilities to horse ride in the Center and also daily excursions with guides. Instructors are available upon request.
SKIING
There are only few locations in the world where guests can go skiing and swimming in the Ocean on the same day. Sierra Nevadas’s famous Ski slopes are just two hours away from Marbella.
MARBELLA CLUB THALASSO SPA
The Marbella Club Thalasso Spa, situated in our sister hotel Marbella Club, offers our guests to use their facilities, which include: Beauty Treatments, Thalasso Therapies, Aroma Therapies, Massages and Thalasso Anti-Stress treatments.
TENNIS
The Hotel Puente Romano’s Tennis & Fitness Club features ten courts (two hard and eight clay courts), together with a Centre Court capable of seating over 2.000 spectators, as well as four paddle courts.
The Tennis & Fitness Club is one of Spain’s most established clubs to host international tournaments and to stage concerts with famous artists during the summer. Tennis and Paddle Pros are available for members and hotel residents, for beginners to the most advanced players.
FITNESS
Hotel Puente Romano’s Tennis & Fitness Club also offers a large state-of-the-art Fitness Center, with Techno Gym equipment, an aerobics classroom, a spinning classroom, a Pilates studio, a Pro Shop, massage rooms, Turkish baths and saunas (for him and her). Regular courses are offered in aerobics, Yoga, spinning, and more for members and hotel residents.
Personal trainer lessons are available on request in order to improve your personal fitness and to receive in depth instructions and knowledge on how to use each equipment correctly.
POOLS AND BEACHES
There are three open-air, landscaped swimming pools, located in the Hotel’s gardens and at the Beach Club. One is heated in winter. Sun beds, parasols and towels are provided free of charge to Hotel Residents. At the small pool, there is also a children’s pool, situated next to the Kids Club.
